From what I’ve hear you already encounter a lot less creeps up North in Chiang Mai and it’s a lot more tame than Pattaya or Bankok. Probably because backpackers have a lot less money/aren’t usually willing to pay for sex.
If I remember correctly, it’s fully illegal for any type of prostitution and related stuff in Chiang Mai. I’ve never seen one there atleast. It’s a very family friendly place, and have alot of temples so many religious people visit the area, so not good to have a big sex trade going on there. Same with where I always stay, Ao Nang, Krabi, or Khao Lak, all types of sex stuff is illegal and you wont see any prostitutes on the street.
