    I imagine that would force him to take a very very very hard look at himself that he clearly hasn’t done yet. He’s at an incredible low right now but STILL wants to blame it all on being depressed and having ADHD and that he’s completely unable to work. You’d think if he was so profoundly disabled he’d be on disability. If he goes the tent route he’ll have to finally accept that he’s not some genius and that he’s made a series of really bad decisions that lead him there. The denial here is pretty unreal. You’re 100% right and Ian could build himself back up pretty quickly and easily. If he hadn’t of burned so many bridges with friends and family he could’ve chilled there for a while while he built up an income and some savings. Instead he used the charity of others to sit around all day posting on facebook and reading scientific article abstracts trying to explain to himself that he’s mentally ill and disabled and not just lazy and unmotivated. Fascinating to me.
