Literally how it works in most non western countries.
As a foreigner, you’re always treated as a second class citizen. You don’t get access to any welfare they have, you don’t get to buy housing or land, and so on.
In the philippines, you can only own 49% of a home/land/property. Your wife or her family have to own the remaining 51%.
I believe you can’t buy a house at all in vietnam either.
