In my country the offical “acceptable” commute distance (and they calculate it in typical government way) is 2 hrs into work 2hrs back home. Often it is actually up to 3hrs to and back from work, cause government uses the best optimal and not how it is actually.

iirc, there are studies shown that after 30min of commute, every additional minute suddenly correlates with job dissatisfaction.
In today’s age of remote work, it’s ridiculous that they still try to force people to commute. Notice how the governments and companies always virtue signal about muh climate change but don’t want people to stop commuting? That’s the easiest way to save up on emissions and fuel usage.
And less cars on the road would mean that roads would last longer (again saving up money and emissions) and that the traffic would flow better, which also means more free time and less emissions.

i agree they talk abotu climate change being the biggest coming crisis but wont scale back on commutes or invading other countries or building weapons. But to think that CO2 Reduction, meaning basically in the end LIFE reduction, made by humans will do anything is ridiculous and also very deceitful. You also have to look at WHO is funding all this and how they profiting from that. They had to go with the climate change wording after we had some record freezes while paid scientists and politicians were saying the world was on fire. I’m not too worried about it. I checked my cities high temperatures on the same day of the year from the 1950s through now and its always been in a good range. Sometimes going up, sometimes going down, but never a trend upwards and stays within a range of like 10 degrees. Call me stupid for using those numbers and not whatever number games the scientists play but it makes sense to me. Anyways, we could always cut more trillion dollar checks. Im sure the next one will fix the problem where all the last ones failed.

Losing my job because VW is cutting spending because the German automotive industry is basically dead, it’s just a matter of time until I am laid off. Few months probably. But yeah, unfortunately you are correct, THEY will keep pestering me to get a new job, even though I would prefer to collect my benefits for a year or so(which I have paid for over a decade) but yeah… won’t work. I honestly want to leave Europe and search something in the US but I think it’s very difficult as a non citizen without a work visa. So yeah. No idea.

Like 80% of buildings that have been built around the ghetto i live in are considered social housing and they’re all handed to gimmigrants fresh off the boat.
