Asfar as I know was the Dixie Highway one of the early major north–south American auto trails and thenmany of its segments were absorbed into U.S. routes, state roads, and in some corridors replaced or bypassed by modern Interstates. That is why the name ‘Dixie Highway’ appears in so many places. I like the many “MLK Boulevards” much more, cause there you find your crack houses according to Lou.
