I liked Mike a year or 2 ago, but now he’s being retarded. Have you heard him talk about AI?
The first time i ever saw a video from this guy something immediately felt off to me. He reeked of midwit, pretentious, redditor energy.
But this is somehow worse than anything i had imagined. His entire degree is a scam. No wonder he relied this much on the Dr/PhD thing.
In engineering university, only the nepo babies and the mediocre people who crack slipped their way up academia ever brought up their PhD. Massive red flag.
Somehow his PhD thesis is worse than his bodybuilding record which is really saying something.

I am going to say it: “Sport Science” is not a real Science - it could be. But right now it is a big joke, at least in the US.
His thesis was really really bad and you also see that nobody gave a shit, not his advisor, not (if there even was) the academics examining his work.
I also dislike the general established way of thinking that a “PhD” is making you into an authority in every aspect of your field. As a matter of fact, it makes you a specialist in a very very tiny area of your field and should never be the “last step” of academic education, but only be done strictly for research.
So many people just want to call themselves “Doctor”. All about pride.

Yeah people dont really get how much a PhD narrows your focus academically. Only passionate geniuses are experts in their field in spite of their PhD.
If anything id say Solomons video was more damning for the university than it was for Mike.
Mike is just one person, just one scammer.
But the univeristy possibly gave underserved PhD titles to hundreds of people if not more. Everything about them could be compromised. They empowered this bloated manlet and are partially responsible for his success.

Academia is flawed in many ways but the general population thinks just because someone is knowledgeable about one specific topic they are smart and can comment on anything. It is retarded to ask a mathematician about politics or a sports “scientist” about AI (random example huehuehue)
