I don’t consider him trying to bounce back after his injury much because the overall trajectory of his life was clearly downhill. He was never truly the same because he couldn’t even perform upper body movements either (at 100%) without his legs.
His injury is still incredibly unique because his tendons/muscle snapped at the very top of the rep, not the bottom. Like he genuinely got 3/4 of the weight up and tore something. 99% of the time people get injured it’s at the bottom or close to the mid range, not past the mid range.
But like someone else said on the podcast, there is argument to be made that if he hadn’t snapped his shit up that day, he would have done it another time. He would have continued to lift heavy until he got injured.

I think the stroke killed it, not the leg injury. But I think he was not trucking for a long time, maybe 2-3ys before we met him. He also sold out his appartement and went on living in hotels and then with mommy way before the stroke. He probably always wanted to do that. I dont fault him for that.
