Ruqqus started as a result of a kickstarter campaign, it was gonna be the one forum where nothing was out of bounds as far as political expression goes, the site flourished for a while and was actually doing ok, our subforum (or guild as they called it) +Delraymisfits actually got quite good treatment from the head admins, namely some weeb called captainmeta4, I would even say his approach was great, hands off while ignoring rosovs unrelenting assault of emails, but as the site grew, so did the attempts to take it down, 4 or 5 months later they ended up with a kiwifarms situation, a site with no real allies wanting to be taken down by the powers that be, however, unlike josh moon (who runs kiwifarms to this day) captainmeta4 caved to the pressure and hate speech rules where applied to the site, a universally hated desition, quickly after this the guild was deleted, and I don’t think Ruqqus as a site even exists anymore
I would like to clarify the scale of things, our guild was not the biggest, and rosovs attacks had nothing to do with the eventual downfall of the site, our subforum was caught in this bigger situation
I’m pretty sure our guild was the second biggest on the site other than maybe the MGTOW guild.
SJW’s brought the whole sight down, the admins realised after banning us and some of the other top guilds as appeasement that it wasn’t enough.
