He can’t beg on the street because then he can’t pretend to be an intellectual and it’s too “below him”, never mind I don’t think people would give to a guy in dress clothes and a jacket. Ian has dug himself into such a deep hole I don’t even think he can get out of it honestly. Sooner or later he’ll be forced to stay in shelters and go to soup kitchens. And at that point his ability to get a job drops even further (not like he wants one now anyways). Had he taken a look in the mirror a couple months ago he could’ve found a couch with a friend, and stayed for a few weeks/months while he worked some shit job just to get on his feet. Now that is basically impossible. He’ll have a couple more weeks of hotel living and e begging before that well runs dry too
